I have wanted see the world since as long as I can remember! A few years ago, I met a girl from Brazil who was studying abroad and I thought it was fascinating! That prompted me to look into student exchange programs and take a French class at my high school. I have really fallen in love with what I know about the people and culture of France.
I want to come home after my year in France speaking French fluently, that way I can teach others about the language, country and life I experienced in France! I also have been thinking about fitting this language into a future career.
The cost of the tuition is something that I am working to cover everyday. I am involved with a few fundraisers, one that I am extremely excited about is the 23rd annual AFS-Pinedorado 5K fun run in Cambria on August 30th. For this fundraiser, I will be going to local businesses and asking for a one hundred dollar donation in exchange for their business's name on the back of the t-shirt that the runners will wear during the run.
I have joined the AFS Sponsor an AFSer program, which allows my friends and family to make secure non tax-deductible donations through my blog. Every donation goes directly to my AFS program fund. No amount is too small--I know that times are tough, but every little bit will help me get a little closer to covering my tuition.
Thank you so much for reading this, and I would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this blog to anyone else who you think might be interested in sponsoring my AFS experience. Keep checking back here to read more about me and keep up with my adventures once I actually get to France!
